PARIS,— UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan took part in the 52nd G7 Leaders’ Summit, held in the French city of Évian-les-Bains between June 15 and 17, 2026, state-run news agency reported.

The annual gathering hosted the leaders of the G7 nations, which include France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Canada and Japan, as well as heads of state from several invited countries who attended as guests.

During his address, Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE remains committed to partnering with other nations to promote peace, security, stability and development worldwide.

He expressed thanks to French President Emmanuel Macron for organizing the event and for welcoming the UAE as a participant.

The UAE leader described the region as being in a period of deep unrest and rapidly shifting conditions with consequences that go far beyond its immediate geography.

He acknowledged the backing provided by G7 nations and other global partners as the UAE responded to six consecutive weeks of Iranian missile and drone strikes directed at civilian targets.

Sheikh Mohamed said the conflict made clear that greater international cooperation and joint action are necessary. He stressed that secure trade routes, reliable supply chains and strong infrastructure form the backbone of economic well-being, and that maintaining global stability is a responsibility shared by all nations.

He recognized the contribution of U.S. President Donald Trump to securing a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.

He said real and lasting peace in the region requires that countries respect each other’s sovereignty, follow the principles of good-neighborly relations and abide fully by international law.

The UAE president highlighted broad potential for deeper cooperation in the energy transition, artificial intelligence and economic growth, calling the UAE a dependable partner in each area.

He said the UAE’s attendance at the G7 summit demonstrates its intent to strengthen partnerships and invest in innovation, connectivity and resilience as pillars of future global prosperity.
