DUBAI,— Dubai recorded its third straight year of tourism growth in 2025, welcoming 19.59 million international overnight visitors, a 5 percent increase from the 18.72 million visitors received in 2024, the government of Dubai said in an official statement.
The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, known as DET, released data showing that strategic partnerships, global marketing efforts, and large-scale international events played a key role in boosting visitor numbers throughout the year.
The city reached a new milestone in December 2025 when it hosted more than 2 million visitors in a single month for the first time, a development that officials said created strong momentum going into 2026.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, credited the growth to long-term planning by the city’s leadership.
He said the results reflect the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the goals set under the Dubai Economic Agenda, known as D33.
According to Sheikh Hamdan, Dubai’s tourism performance shows the leadership’s commitment to building a globally connected city that attracts visitors, investors, and businesses from around the world.
He said the government has focused on improving infrastructure, expanding international cooperation, and strengthening Dubai’s position as a major global destination.
Dubai’s diversity and cultural vibrancy were also highlighted as important factors in attracting travelers, along with continuous development in hospitality, entertainment, and tourism services.
Sheikh Hamdan added that cooperation between government agencies, private businesses, and tourism stakeholders remains a priority to improve innovation and service quality across the sector.
He described tourism as a major pillar of Dubai’s economy, supporting diversification and long-term sustainable development in line with the D33 agenda.
The Crown Prince said authorities are working to further integrate all parts of Dubai’s tourism system, including transportation, hotels, attractions, and business services.
He emphasized that Dubai aims to strengthen its status as a leading global hub for both business and leisure travel.
Officials also said the city continues to position itself as one of the best places in the world to visit, live, and work.
The government of Dubai said the steady rise in visitor numbers demonstrates the success of its tourism strategy and its ability to adapt to changing global travel trends.
With strong results in 2025 and record arrivals in December, officials expect continued growth in the years ahead.
