DUBAI,— Club Africain of Tunisia won the 35th Dubai International Basketball Championship on Sunday, beating the UAE national team 93–77 in the final at Rashid bin Hamdan Hall at Al Nasr Club.
This marks the first time Club Africain has won the title in its history.
The tournament featured 10 teams from across the Arab world, Africa, and Asia. Tunisian clubs have now claimed the championship twice, after ES Rades took the title in 2018.
The UAE national team reached the final for the first time since the competition began, setting a new milestone for the host nation.
Al Ittihad of Libya took third place, narrowly defeating Beirut Club of Lebanon 98–95 in the match before the final.
The Dubai International Basketball Championship, also known as the Dubai Basketball Cup, is held annually in Dubai. It usually features men’s club teams from the Arab region, as well as invited teams from Africa, Asia, and occasionally other regions.
