DUBAI,—The United Arab Emirates has banned its citizens from traveling to Iran, Lebanon and Iraq, ordering those already in the three countries to return home immediately, the UAE foreign ministry said Thursday.
The ministry urged Emiratis in those countries to “expedite their immediate return to the UAE” and contact the ministry by telephone.
It cited ongoing regional developments as the reason for the travel ban.
The three countries are central to the Iran war that erupted in February 2026.
A separate truce halted U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran in early April, but naval blockades remain in place and peace talks held in Pakistan have stalled.
Iraq and Lebanon are home to pro-Iran Shiite militias, which have carried out attacks on regional targets both locally and across the Middle East.
The ministry stressed the need for all citizens to follow its travel advisories and official instructions.
