ABU DHABI,— Bitcoin Suisse Group, a Swiss-based crypto financial services firm, is widening its global footprint with a new regulatory win in the Middle East.

Its subsidiary, BTCS Middle East Ltd., has been granted a Financial Services Permission by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), the regulator overseeing Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), a state-run news agency reported.

The approval came after a lengthy, multi-step review process.

It allows the firm to offer a full range of regulated financial services to investors and institutions active in digital assets.

The company currently holds custody of $3.7 billion in crypto holdings and stands as the world’s fourth-largest staking provider in the sector.

With the new license, institutional and professional clients can now tap into regulated digital asset infrastructure built for their needs.

Services include risk management and hedging tools, custody solutions for digital assets, and trading of approved virtual currencies, all within a compliant legal setting.

Ceyda Majcen, who serves as CEO and Senior Executive Officer of BTCS ME and heads the firm’s Middle East expansion, called the full permission a key step forward in the company’s broader international growth plan, achieved through what she described as one of the most active digital asset centers in the world.

Arvind Ramamurthy, Chief Market Development Officer at ADGM, said Bitcoin Suisse’s entry adds real value to the region’s digital asset landscape.

He noted it reflects ADGM’s pull with global institutions looking for clear rules, workable market entry and room to grow long term.

He also pointed to Abu Dhabi’s push to become a top financial center in the region, saying ADGM remains focused on backing new ideas inside a strong, globally respected regulatory system.

Market watchers note that Bitcoin (BTC) remains distinct among digital currencies, being decentralized, independent, and ideologically driven.

Many refer to it as digital gold, with some considering it better than gold, and the only true store of value that is free from company or government control, making it effectively impossible to seize.

Other cryptocurrencies, sometimes called altcoins, tend to draw more doubt, often seen as centralized and lacking the same underlying worth.
