DUBAI,— First Abu Dhabi Bank FAB reported a 22% rise in fourth-quarter net profit on Wednesday, as growth in operating income and non-interest income supported its results.
The UAE’s largest lender by assets posted a net profit of 5.1 billion dirhams ($1.39 billion) for the final three months of 2025, exceeding analyst expectations of 4.9 billion dirhams, according to LSEG data.
The bank, whose main shareholder is the sovereign wealth fund Mubadala, proposed a cash dividend of 80 fils per share.
Analysts have noted that UAE banks are benefiting from higher credit demand, fueled by government investments in tourism and infrastructure to reduce dependence on oil revenues.
“The composition of earnings continued to evolve positively, with a higher contribution from non-funded income and steady delivery across business lines and geographies,” said CFO Lars Kramer in a statement.
For the full year, FAB reported a record net profit of 21.1 billion dirhams ($5.74 billion), driven by a 36% increase in non-interest income.
Loans and advances rose 17% to 616 billion dirhams, while customer deposits increased 7% to 841 billion dirhams. Total assets reached 1.4 trillion dirhams at the end of December 2025.
Emirates NBD, Dubai’s largest bank by assets, reported a net profit of $6.53 billion for 2025 on January 26, highlighting strong earnings growth across the UAE banking sector.
