BEIJING,— Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Tuesday, where Xi called for stronger and more dynamic ties between China and the Arab world, a media pool report said.
He said countries should enhance coordination and cooperation as the world faces choices between peace and war, and between unity and confrontation.
The crown prince arrived in China on Monday, April 12, 2026, for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors.
The visit comes amid heightened tension in the Gulf region after weekend talks between Washington and Tehran failed to reach a deal to end a weeks long war in Iran.
China’s Premier Li Qiang also met Sheikh Khaled in Beijing on Monday and called for deeper energy cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, according to state broadcaster CCTV.
Li said China is willing to strengthen the foundation of energy ties and explore cooperation in energy storage, hydrogen energy and new energy vehicles.
He also urged the UAE to take strong measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens, institutions and projects in the country during the Iran conflict, adding that China would continue efforts to help end the war.
