BANGKOK — Thai police arrested two Chinese nationals in Bangkok on Tuesday night in connection with the kidnapping and killing of three people whose bodies were found buried in a desert near Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in June, the Bangkok Post reported.
The men, identified only as Chen, 30, and Yang, 28, were detained at separate luxury condominium buildings in the Chidlom and Silom districts.
Both were subject to Interpol Red Notices, said Pol Lt Gen Noppasilp Poonsawat, commissioner of the Immigration Police.
Authorities say the pair took part in the abduction of a Turkish businessman, his Chinese girlfriend, and a Bangladeshi driver.
The three were seized by a group of seven kidnappers from a luxury villa in Dubai in June.
Investigators traced CCTV recordings to the Sweihan desert, located southeast of Dubai, where the victims’ bodies were later found buried.
Police said the motive behind the killings remains unknown.
