DUBAI,— Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) released its preliminary and unaudited consolidated financial results for 2025, describing the year as its strongest performance on record.

In a statement, the DEWA Group said consolidated revenue reached AED 32.84 billion, while EBITDA totaled AED 17.37 billion. Net profit after tax stood at AED 9.09 billion, reflecting continued growth in demand and strong operational efficiency.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, DEWA’s managing director and chief executive officer, said the company achieved record financial and operational results in 2025.

He said revenue, EBITDA, and profit all hit new highs, supported by the highest levels ever of electricity generation, clean energy production, desalinated water output, and peak power demand.

He noted that clean power generation surpassed 10 terawatt-hours for the first time, supporting progress toward the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 vision.

He added that profit after tax covered the annual dividend of AED 6.2 billion by about 1.46 times, helping maintain a resilient dividend profile.

According to the statement, consolidated revenue rose 6.02 percent from 2024, driven by higher demand for electricity, water, and cooling services. Net profit after tax increased 25.66 percent year-on-year.

DEWA generated 62.21 terawatt-hours of electricity in 2025, up 5.10 percent from the previous year.

Clean energy output reached 10.10 terawatt-hours, a 52.38 percent increase, representing 16.23 percent of total generation. Annual peak electricity demand climbed 5.83 percent to 11.39 gigawatts.

Demand for desalinated water grew 6.62 percent to a record 161.505 billion imperial gallons, while daily peak demand reached 487 million imperial gallons. Customer accounts rose by 56,897 to 1,327,182, an increase of 4.48 percent.

During the fourth quarter of 2025, DEWA produced 14.24 terawatt-hours of electricity, including 2.18 terawatt-hours of clean energy, up 38.35 percent from the same period in 2024.

Quarterly desalinated water demand totaled 40.55 billion imperial gallons, up 5.14 percent, and 17,823 new customer accounts were added.

The DEWA Group said total investments in 2025 reached AED 11.72 billion, mainly directed toward renewable energy projects, desalination plants, and transmission and distribution networks.

Installed generation capacity rose 4.66 percent to 17,979 megawatts, including 3,860 megawatts from clean energy sources.

DEWA plans to exceed 23 gigawatts of installed power capacity by 2030, with about 8.3 gigawatts from renewable sources, or 36.1 percent.

Desalinated water production capacity is expected to reach 735 million imperial gallons per day, of which 308 million will be produced using seawater reverse osmosis powered by renewable energy.
