DUBAI,—Emirates on Friday presented a new aircraft design featuring a large United Arab Emirates flag across the body of its Airbus A380, the world’s biggest passenger jet.
The airline said in a statement the design on aircraft A6-EVG expands its well-known tail fin branding and reflects the UAE’s unity, ambition and national identity.
The livery is part of Emirates’ campaign titled “This Flag Will Always Fly.” It supports a nationwide initiative introduced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.”
“The initiative encouraged citizens and residents to display the UAE flag as a shared symbol of unity and national pride during recent challenges.”
Emirates Chairman and Chief Executive Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said the airline was responding to Sheikh Mohammed’s call to raise the flag in recognition of national strength and unity.
He said Emirates aircraft have carried the UAE flag since the company began operations. He added that the new design honors the country and reflects what the UAE has achieved through collective effort.
He also said the flag has its greatest presence in the skies and that it is a privilege for Emirates to display it while flying.
The new design uses the UAE national colors in a large three-dimensional style that stretches across both sides of the aircraft. The airline said the moving design represents national pride.
The aircraft has already flown to destinations including New York and Brisbane. It is expected to serve additional A380 routes within the Emirates network and will be visible in airports, cities and airspace worldwide.
Emirates also said it plans to apply the same flag design to one of its Boeing 777 aircraft, which is the second-largest commercial passenger plane in service after the A380.
The UAE flag remains a constant feature of Emirates’ fleet. It is painted on the tail of each aircraft as part of the airline’s standard design, carrying the country’s colors across global destinations daily.
In April 2026, Emirates installed Starlink satellite internet on its first Airbus A380, introducing free high speed Wi-Fi for passengers on board.
