DUBAI,— Two concerts by Colombian singer Shakira in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar have been postponed as tensions continue across the Gulf, Reuters reported.
In the UAE, a planned performance at Abu Dhabi’s Offlimits Music Festival will no longer take place on April 4.
Ticketing platform Platinumlist said the festival has been moved to November because of the regional situation.
Shakira had been scheduled to appear alongside the Jonas Brothers and other artists.
In Doha, Shakira was set to perform on April 1. Visit Qatar said the concert was postponed citing the current regional situation in a social media post.
The postponements reflect wider disruption to events across the region as the conflict affects travel, planning, and public gatherings, with organizers reviewing safety conditions before confirming new dates for international performances.
Officials have not provided further details on future changes yet.
Formula 1 also confirmed the cancellation of races planned in Bahrain and Jeddah for April 2026.
The organization said careful evaluations showed conditions were not safe due to the ongoing conflict.
The Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix remains scheduled for December 4 to 6, 2026, at Yas Marina Circuit, with the main race on December 6.
The UAE continues to host major international music events throughout the year, attracting global performers.
Tensions rose after the United States and Israel carried out joint airstrikes against Iran on February 28, 2026.
Iran later launched missile and drone attacks targeting locations across the Gulf, including airports, seaports, hotels, residential areas, and oil facilities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the report said.
Iran continues daily strikes across Gulf countries with missiles and attacks.
