ABU DHABI,— Borouge Plc reported strong financial results for 2025, posting a net profit of $1.1 billion, a leading adjusted EBITDA margin of 37 percent, and a net profit margin of 19 percent for the year.
The company said in a statement its fourth-quarter net profit rose 12 percent from the previous quarter to $330 million, boosted by record production, sales volumes, and plant utilisation.
Borouge produced 5.1 million tonnes of polyolefins in 2025, exceeding its nameplate capacity. In the second quarter, the company completed the largest turnaround in its history, improving plant performance and efficiency.
The company focused on high-value products, including infrastructure solutions, while optimising regional sales.
This helped maintain strong pricing premia despite a decline in benchmark prices, with polyethylene (PE) premiums reaching $224 per tonne and polypropylene (PP) at $134 per tonne.
Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi, Borouge’s CEO, said the results reflect the company’s resilience and market leadership.
He added that Borouge is positioned to capture new opportunities and create long-term value for shareholders. The company plans to pay a 16.2 fils per share dividend for 2025.
Operational performance in the final quarter was a highlight, with production reaching 1.46 million tonnes, the highest quarterly output ever.
Sales volumes rose 21 percent to 1.64 million tonnes, lifting revenue 16 percent quarter-on-quarter to $1.68 billion and net profit by 12 percent.
The successful completion of the Borouge 3 plant turnaround in Q2 strengthened production capabilities. The project, the most complex in the company’s history, was finished on schedule and on budget.
High-value products continued to drive sales, with infrastructure solutions making up 39 percent of total volumes in Q4, up 3 percentage points from the previous quarter.
Borouge prioritised markets with strong returns, with Asia Pacific accounting for 59 percent of sales and the Middle East and Africa 32 percent.
For the full year, revenue reached $5.85 billion. Full-year sales volumes of 5.4 million tonnes were the highest in the company’s history. Adjusted EBITDA was $2.17 billion, with a 37 percent margin.
Borouge said the second-half dividend will be paid in April 2026, pending shareholder approval, and will continue at the same level through at least 2030, subject to necessary approvals.
