PARIS,— French energy company TotalEnergies said it has halted offshore oil production in the United Arab Emirates as the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran disrupts energy operations across the Middle East.

The company said on its investor website that about 15 percent of its global oil and gas production has been affected by shutdowns in the region. The disruption includes operations in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Iraq.

TotalEnergies said the affected production represents about 10 percent of its upstream cash flow.

The company confirmed that its offshore oil production in the UAE has been shut down. The country produces roughly half of its oil output from offshore fields.

The statement marked the first confirmation of broad production disruptions in the UAE since the crisis began.

Authorities in Qatar and Iraq have previously reported production cuts. The UAE has not released official information about shutdowns in its oil sector.

TotalEnergies said the financial effect of the lost production could be balanced by higher oil prices. The company said oil prices have increased by about $8 per barrel since the conflict started.

It added that the additional income, along with new production coming online in other regions this year, would more than compensate for the losses in the Middle East.

The company also reported that operations at its SATORP refinery in Saudi Arabia continue normally.

Shutdowns in Qatar’s liquefied natural gas sector have had limited impact on the company, reducing TotalEnergies’ LNG output by about two million tonnes.

Middle East tensions rose after the United States and Israel launched joint airstrikes on Iran on February 28, 2026.

Iran later carried out several waves of missile and drone attacks across the Gulf region.

The report said the strikes targeted airports, seaports, hotels, residential neighborhoods and oil facilities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Iranian attacks continue daily, while UAE air defense systems intercept most missiles and drones.
