DUBAI,— Abu Dhabi National Oil Company plans to invest tens of billions of dollars in a U.S. natural gas business, the Financial Times reported Tuesday.
Nameer Siddiqui, chief investment officer of ADNOC overseas arm XRG, said the company is reviewing 29 potential deals to build a vertically integrated global gas business.
He said the strategy aims to diversify commodity exposure across the full gas value chain.
XRG is evaluating opportunities to meet rising global liquefied natural gas demand and growing U.S. power needs for data centers, the report said.
Investments under consideration include gas production, pipelines, processing plants, liquefaction facilities, and possibly regasification assets and delivery pipelines to end users in other countries.
Siddiqui said XRG remains committed to deploying tens of billions of dollars in the U.S. energy sector despite geopolitical challenges linked to the Iran war.
He added that investment decisions depend on achieving appropriate returns, and described the United States as a key market for expansion.
The Financial Times said XRG is ADNOC’s international investment platform focused on global energy growth.
It is pursuing long term growth in gas markets through integrated operations across production, transport, and delivery, the report said Tuesday report noted continued expansion plans across the United States energy infrastructure sector market strategy focus growth.
