ABU DHABI,— The United Arab Emirates said its industrial exports reached a record AED 262 billion, or $71.331 billion, in 2025, the first time the figure crossed that level.

The figure marked a 25 percent increase compared with 2024 and was more than double the level recorded before the establishment of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in 2020.

The growth reflected the effectiveness of government industrial policies aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of national products and expanding their presence in global markets.

Official data showed that exports from medium- and high-technology industries reached AED 92 billion in 2025, up 42 percent from a year earlier.

That result exceeded the AED 90 billion target set for 2031, achieving the goal six years ahead of schedule and showing a faster shift toward advanced manufacturing and higher value production.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE’s vice president, prime minister, and ruler of Dubai, said a strong industrial base is the backbone of any competitive national economy, Emirates News Agency reported.

He said he was proud of national industrial performance, noting that exports grew by 25 percent in one year to more than AED 262 billion, including about AED 90 billion in advanced technologies.

He said this made the UAE the leading country in the region in industrial exports.

Sheikh Mohammed added that the UAE is an industrial powerhouse built on close integration between government legislation and the private sector, supported by advanced digital infrastructure and a solid financial and banking system. He said industrial figures in 2026 would be even stronger.

Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, minister of industry and advanced technology, said the results reflect the ministry’s efforts to implement the leadership’s vision by supporting industrial growth, improving the investment climate, and strengthening the UAE’s role as a trusted industrial and trade partner.

Al Jaber said that since the ministry was established in 2020, industrial exports have grown by 100 percent.

He said the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology and the “Make it in the Emirates” initiative are key drivers of industrial investment and local production.

He said the ministry aims to turn export growth into sustainable economic value by boosting the competitiveness of advanced, vital, and priority industries, expanding industrial and technological exports, integrating supply chains, and increasing self-sufficiency in essential products and materials.

Officials said the results reflect the impact of “Make it in the Emirates,” which seeks to localize priority industries.

Earlier in February, Borouge Plc reported strong financial results for 2025, with a net profit of $1.1 billion. The company achieved an adjusted EBITDA margin of 37 percent and a net profit margin of 19 percent for the year.
