DUBAI,— Abu Dhabi’s state energy company ADNOC has launched a new global platform for marketing and trading liquefied natural gas, based in Abu Dhabi Global Market.

The move combines the marketing arms of ADNOC Gas and XRG with the trading unit ADNOC Trading into one commercial operation, the company said in a statement on Monday.

The platform is meant to give ADNOC more flexibility in shipping and stronger access to customers worldwide.

It supports growth at ADNOC Gas’s LNG business, including the Ruwais LNG project, along with XRG’s expanding gas and infrastructure operations abroad. ADNOC said the setup builds on its 50 years of experience as an LNG supplier.

The company is aiming for 47 million tonnes per year of combined marketable LNG by 2035. That target would place the platform among the world’s top LNG operators and strengthen Abu Dhabi’s standing as a global hub for energy trading.

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and head of both ADNOC and XRG, said global LNG demand is set to rise sharply, and the market will need suppliers that are large, dependable and trustworthy.

He said the platform unites ADNOC’s marketing, trading and shipping strength into a single hub in Abu Dhabi, calling it a major shift in scale and flexibility for the company’s LNG business.

Rashid Al Mazrouei has been named Chief Marketing and Origination Officer for LNG.

He will oversee marketing of the combined LNG holdings of XRG and ADNOC Gas, running long-term marketing from Abu Dhabi Global Market while coordinating with ADNOC Trading.

ADNOC Gas has supplied LNG since 1977 and has delivered more than 3,500 cargoes worldwide.

ADNOC Gas’s current LNG contracts will stay in place. The company said the new structure should bring added value to its marketing work, including future volumes from Ruwais LNG.

XRG’s LNG business, which includes supply centers and offices in London and Abu Dhabi, will also benefit.

Long-term LNG marketing will now run through the combined platform, though ADNOC Trading will keep handling trading deals directly, with no changes for existing customers.

ADNOC Trading has built a large portfolio of third-party LNG business in just four years and now ranks among the top LNG financial traders globally, with offices in Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Geneva.

Shipping remains central to the platform. ADNOC Trading’s LNG shipping team ranked among the top global charterers in 2025.

ADNOC L&S now operates 20 LNG ships, including 14 modern two-stroke vessels, supporting the UAE’s growing LNG output and trade.
