DUBAI,— Dubai International Airport received its first direct flight from Tehran on Monday, restoring a route that had been shut down since the recent military conflict between Iran, Israel and the United States disrupted air travel across the region.
Flight tracking service Flightradar24.com showed a Flysepehran Airline aircraft leaving Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport and landing in Dubai at 1:18 p.m.
Dubai Airports recorded the arrival as flight IS 7352, which came in at Terminal 2.
A return flight to Tehran was set to leave Dubai later in the day.
Dubai Airports did not comment when asked about the flight after it appeared on the airport’s arrival board.
Before the fighting began, more than a dozen flights a week connected the United Arab Emirates and Iran.
Major UAE carriers flydubai and Air Arabia have not yet brought back their Iran routes. On Flysepehran’s website, seats were scarce, with the next Tehran to Dubai flight listed for Wednesday and limited seats further out.
The route had been closed since February 28, 2026, when strikes on Iran shut the region’s airspace. Imam Khomeini airport reopened June 9, and carriers have slowly added back flights as diplomatic talks continue.
Ramin Kashefazar, head of the Tehran airport, told Iranian state media that arrangements had been finalized to bring back the Tehran-Dubai run after the brief halt.
The semi-official Mehr news agency, citing an airport official, said the goal was to help passengers travel and rebuild aviation ties between the two countries.
A ceasefire between Iran and the United States took hold in mid-June, but the Dubai-Tehran flight freeze stayed in place for weeks afterward.
UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke by phone with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, on Friday about regional matters.
Dubai International Airport was hit several times by Iranian drones and missiles during the Iran war.
Iran fired thousands of missiles and drones at sites throughout the UAE during the conflict, with strikes hitting major airports, seaports, hotels, residential areas and oil facilities in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
